When the coordinates (1, 1), (7, 3), (8, 0), and (2, −2) are joined, which shape is formed?
THIS IS THE BEST ANSWER 👇
A rectangle states that a parallelogram has all its interior angles at right angles ie, 90 degrees and opposite sides are equal.
In view of the coordinates
A (1, 1), B (7, 3), C (8, 0) and D (2, -2)
Using a Slope Formula:
Calculate the slope of each pair:
For A (1, 1) and B (7, 3)
By definition of slope;
The same,
For B (7, 3) and C (8, 0)
For C (8, 0) and D (2, -2)
For D (2, -2) and A (1,1)
you can see:
Slope AB = Slope Slope of the CD
and
Slope BC = Slope DA
As well as that;
Similarly, the slope product of each pair of side rows is perpendicular (ie 90 degrees).
Then by definition a Rectangle;
when the coordinates (1, 1), (7, 3), (8, 0), and (2, −2) are then joined, the rectangle shape is created.
