Piola it is a concept with different meanings. On the one hand, it may be a rope of little thickness and considerable extension that, generally, it is used to tie something; Let’s see this meaning in example sentences: “Look for a rope so we hold the boat”, “Be careful that the cord was cut”, “I’m going to tie the packages with a rope so it’s easier move them“.
In some South American countries, on the other hand, the notion is associated with people who are characterized by their cunning. It is, in this sense, a adjective that qualifies individuals capable of solving certain situations or reaching a goal thanks to their ingenuity: “Marcos is cool, he always says what the boss wants to hear”, “If you’re cool, you’re going to be successful with this project”, “My father-in-law is very cool”.
Piola, on the other hand, may refer to a person that stands out for its sympathy or to a thing that results attractive or interesting: “I liked Micaela’s boyfriend very well, he’s a cool guy”, “The idea that Laura had is very cool, we are going to carry it out”, “It is a cool museum, with games and interactive activities”.
The expression “Stay cool”, popular in the colloquial language of Argentina, mentions the attitude or conduct that leads to stay out of conflict: “I prefer not to fight again with Manuel, I’d better stay cool and say nothing”, “Stay cool: if you get in, I’ll kill you”, “While everyone was arguing, I stayed out of the office”.
Piola, finally, it is a fairly common surname in Italy, what do they share personalities like the footballer Silvio Piola (died in nineteen ninety six) and the physical Gabrio piola (who lived between 1794 Y 1850).
Forward Silvio Piola, originally from the Italian province of Pavia, is among the most important soccer figures in the history from Italy. In 1938, for example, he scored two goals in the final and his country won the World Cup. Piola ranks third among the top scorers in the history of his team.
Domenico Piola was a painter baroque born in Genoa in 1627. He was an artist of great versatility, since he covered design, drawing, intaglio engraving and painting. His fame was due to both his private and public commissions. His first mentor was Pellegro, but later he trained with Giovanni Domenico Cappellino.
Piola-Kirchhoff
Piola-Kirchhoff is the name of some tension tensioners that are used in the theory of elasticity with finite deformations, in order to make a representation of the tension that exists with respect to the initial undeformed configuration. Its name comes from the physicists Gustav Robert Kirchhoff, a native of Prussia, and the aforementioned Gabrio Piola. On the other hand are those of Cauchy, which are often used to work on the deformed configuration.
Since both configurations are almost equal, in the linear theory of elasticity it is possible to use the latter tensor for the representation of the undeformed configuration and to obtain very approximate results; the need for Piola-Kirchhoff arises when the deformation is considerable.
The following two classes of Piola-Kirchhoff tensors are recognized:
* first: it is a mixed tensor, used to establish the relationship that exists between the two aforementioned configurations (initial undeformed Y distorted);
* second: is symmetrical and serves to develop, on the initial configuration, the statement of the elastic problem (physical-mathematical problem used to find the stresses and displacements in an elastic deformable solid from the forces acting on it, from the displacements imposed by certain points on its surface and in its original form).
