- Short day lengths encourage flowering in most okra cultivars.
- Flowers start at a very growing stage all day less than 11 hours; flowers tend to abort when growing days are longer.

Quick Guide: Planting, Growing & Harvesting Okra
- For a successful crop, grow only in areas with warm day and evening temperatures during the summer
- Choose a location in full sun with healthy soil and plenty of space
- Make sure the soil is loose to support large roots
- Water and weed regularly
- Pods are used to remove plants
- For diseases and pests, practice crop rotation. Pests and diseases include beetles, corn earworms, stink bugs, aphids, root-knot nematodes, fungus, and cabbage loopers.

Choose an okra variety – or two – that suits not only your climate but also your kitchen. Pod size and color are important to some cooks. The texture of the okra – with the right slickness after cooking and the presence of okra’s characteristic ribs – are standard factors. No matter which okra you choose, it is essential to harvest the pods while young.
Flowering Stage
This growth stage of okra is the beginning of blooming flowers. This means that the okra is in 12-16 weeks or 3-4 months old. During this time the beautiful yellow delicate flower begins to show.
This stage requires more fertilizer and water. You must apply water every day because it is very important. You should also add fertilizer to make it grow healthy. Our recommendation will be the best organic fertilizer for okra.
OKRA FARMING: PROGRESSING PLANT ESTABLISHMENT PHASE:
This phase is divided into two parts. In the first stage i.e. five days after germination, Roots multiplier (for rapid development and growth of feeding roots) and stress-free (to help promote crop growth, quality, immunity and resistant power) will be used.
In the 6-16 day period, soil 19-19-19 and Combi should be used to provide the necessary macronutrients and nitrogen to the okra crop and to prevent mix crop deficiencies.
Germination
To grow seeds quickly and efficiently, soak seeds in water for about 8 to 10 hours. Use a coco-based potting mix to soak seeds. Place the Okra seeds about 1.5 to 2 inches deep in the seedy tray. You can cover a seedling tray or pot with plastic wrap for faster germination. Make several small holes in the lid for air flow.
Keep the seeds growing in a warm place. In harsh weather, you can also keep them inside. The germination process takes from a week to 10 days. It’s a summer crop but works well in almost every season. Please wait until the plants grow to about 2 to 3 inches in length and then transplant them into a large container.
