SOMEONE ASKED ๐
Determine the shape around each central atom in the acetate ion. Draw the Lewis structure first.?
HERE THE ANSWERS ๐

I linked an 11-page test that shows at the top of Page 2 what the correct Lewis structure is for CH3COO- (the acetate ion).
You need to determine the geometry (linear, trigonal planar, etc, according to VSEPR)
A. Carbon 1 has 4 bonds (3 Hydrogens and 1 Carbon) so this is Tetrahedral with bond angles at 109 degrees
B. Carbon 2 has 3 bonds (1 Carbon and 2 Oxygens) so this is Trigonal planar with bond angles at 120 degrees.
I still struggle with the VSEPR models but the more you practice, the more you will become familiarized with what the linear shape and bond angles are compared to tetrahedral shape and so on. Hope this helps!
