Supplementary it’s a adjective that comes from supplement and that refers to what is used to supplement or complete something. Supplement, for its part, is an idea linked to supplying (replacing or supplanting a thing, reversing a lack). As a noun, it can be something that is added to something to improve it or the special section of a newspaper or other publication.
In some sports, the supplementary (also known as overtime, extension, lengthen or extra time) is a temporary extension of a match that is set as a tiebreaker method. The time added provides the possibility for one of the teams to break the equality and become the winner.
The basketball or basketball It is one of the sports that does not admit equality, so any of its matches may require a supplementary one. In the football, on the other hand, a supplementary is only established in those eliminatory matches that must necessarily produce a winner. For example: “Peru beat Colombia with a goal in extra time”, “Manu Ginobili gave the victory to Spurs with a triple over the supplementary buzzer”, “Ladies and gentlemen, we will go to extra time: Real Madrid and Barcelona have equalized one by one in the 90 regulatory minutes”, “The game ended at dawn as there were two supplementary games to play”.
In the football field we have to underline that this extra time is made up of two parts of fifteen minutes each. In the event that a match winner cannot be established in said overtime, the famous and decisive penalty shootout will be accessed.
The latter consists of giving each team the opportunity to take five shots from the aforementioned penalty spot. Alternatively, the players chosen from both teams will take their corresponding penalty until the end of the round. The team that manages to score the most goals will be the one that will be proclaimed the absolute winner of the contest.
In the event that even through penalties it is not possible to break the tie, what is known as sudden death will be achieved. It consists of taking alternate penalties until one of the shooters fails, thus resulting in the opponent being the winner.
For the geometry, the supplementary angles are the angles that add up A hundred and eighty degrees. If an angle measures 150º, your supplement will measure 30th. Both angles will then add up 180º, so it can be said that they are supplementary angles (150º + 30º = 180º).
In addition to this hallmark established on the aforementioned supplementary angles, it must be emphasized in the same way that another of their characteristics is that their breasts are the same. And all this without forgetting that in the case of cosines these are of equal absolute value although they have the inverse sign.
Also within the scope of Geometry we have to highlight the fact that there is what is known as a supplementary arc. This can be defined as that arc of a circumference that when added to another gives rise to two quadrants.
