From Latin instruction, instruction is a term associated with the verb instruct (transmit knowledge, facilitate learning) that is also used to name the regulation that has a specific purpose, the body of knowledge and the course followed by an ongoing procedure.
Military, for its part, is linked to the militia already warlike. The notion can refer to soldiers, infrastructures or entities that make up the armed forces.
Specifically, we can clarify this second term a little more by determining that it has its etymological origin in Latin and more exactly in the word militaris which can be defined as “relative or belonging to the soldiers” and which has given rise to other words in Spanish such as militia or militarism, for example.
It is known as Militar instruction, therefore, to the training that receive the members of the armed forces so that they can carry out their duties successfully. This instruction implies the teaching of diverse knowledge, from the use of weapons to notions of military strategy, through physical preparation and legal-military training. Military training takes place both in the classrooms like in simulators, shooting ranges and in possible areas of operations.
For all these reasons, we can establish that military training is made up of or sustained by the following pillars: combat training, closed-order training, specific military academic training, military-physical training, shooting training, and military legal training.
In this case, it must be explained that the specific training mentioned is that thanks to which the soldiers learn everything they need about operating procedures and regulations. Meanwhile, in the case of military legal training, what is achieved is that they know everything that concerns the laws, penalties, rights and punishments.
It is considered essential within its corresponding scope that soldiers receive the corresponding military training and it is that, in the first place, it is considered basic so that they can carry out their tasks and missions in the most effective and efficient way.
However, in the same way it is also established that it is important so that the aforementioned individuals know not only how to perform their functions but also the reason why they have to undertake them. It is, therefore, a matter of establishing the meaning of their work and that they understand the important role they play in the political-social framework.
The military is in charge of defend the integrity and sovereignty of a territory. This means that, in exceptional circumstances, they can use force and arms. A part of military training, therefore, is oriented to how and when to resort to force.
The armed forces respond to the government of each country and must act according to the parameters set by the National Constitution. For this reason, military training, the extent of which varies according to the work to be carried out by the soldier, includes legal notions and the norms of the body. One of the objectives of military training is to avoid excesses on the part of the soldiers.
