It is known as lightning, on the other hand, to the electric shock that occurs naturally between clouds or that starts from a cloud and reaches the earth’s surface. In this sense, it is often used as a synonym for flash of lightning (the glow generated by the discharge in the heaven): “Have you seen that lightning bolt? We better go home. “, “Lightning struck down a tree, which fell on a car”, “When there are lightning strikes, it is best to take shelter to avoid accidents”.

The type of electricity released by natural lightning in a thunderstorm is called static, and is generated when an excessive electrical charge accumulates in an area with little conductivity, which encourages the discharge to be postponed until it is very strong. In addition, the lightning generates what is known as electromagnetic pulse, a very intense emission of electromagnetic energy that takes place in a very short period of time.

The concept flash of lightning, which is often confused with lightning, refers to the light that is perceived during this phenomenon, and its cause is the presence of an electric current that causes the ionization of air molecules. While people are often very afraid of lightning during thunderstorms, fatalities or serious injuries are very rare, as are those from plane crashes. In fact, for lightning to make contact with a human being does not necessarily imply death of the latter, but can cause possible burns to heal. The greatest danger is electrocution, and the collateral damage it leaves on our nervous system, which can range from sleep disturbances to the nullification of entire brain regions.

In a wheel, the rays are those pieces that join the center with the perimeter: “When I fell, the spokes on the front wheel broke”, “My bike has silver spokes”.

The notion of lightning bolt can also be used to qualify an individual who demonstrates a great mental speed, resulting witty and ingenious: “This boy is a thunderbolt, sometimes he surprises me with his answers”, “The president is fascinated with the young minister, whom he defines as lightning for his ability to reach agreements with different social sectors”.
