The first step that we are going to take before entering fully into the meaning of the term fracture is to know its etymological origin. In this case, we can state that it is a word that derives from Latin, “fracture”, which is exactly the result of the union of two lexical components of that one:
-The verb “frango, frangere”, which can be translated as “shattering”.
-The suffix “-ura”, which is used to indicate “action” or “process”.
The concept of fracture refers to act and result of fracturing: break, fragment or break something. The most common use of the term is associated with what happens with a bone when bankruptcy.
