SOMEONE ASKED 👇
Feeding rats popcorn alright?
HERE THE ANSWERS 👇
-
There is absolutely nothing wrong with popcorn for your rats! Just make sure they aren’t from a bag of microwave popcorn, as they contain very high levels of salt and other additives. My rats enjoy air popped popcorn when we watch movies or just as a treat if I am having some.
Dry popped popcorn is healthy for people as well as rats. It is only when popcorn becomes laden with salt and butter that it isn’t very good for you.
Your rats will really appreciate popcorn as something tasty and fun to eat.

Every once in a while it’s ok as a treat, but if it has oil/salt on it, it’s pretty unhealthy for your rat.
If you want to give your rat popcorn (only as a treat), buy the unsalted kind.

You could give it a little piece so it dosn’t chock on it for a very special treat very rarly but this is not healthy rat food. Feed it rat food from the pet store.

No problem they’ll enjoy it. But dont give them too much ( say 1-2 a week at the most) they are quite acidic anh may upset their stomachs but rats can eat pretty much anything anyway… Good for guinea pigs & rabbits too – for vitamin c etc

It’s ok every once in awhile, but pet rats aren’t like outdoor rats, they cant eat everything. So Not really.

yes

Outside rats go through trash and eat everything and anything available. They live in sewers and run through sewer water in the big cities. So, I would say popcorn is one of the best things you could give a rat.

If you do, do unbuttered and unsalted
-
no, they eat cheese the ingredients in popcorn will eventually kill them.
