In figure 28-7, what information indicates that meiosis takes place during the jellyfish’s reproductive cycle?
THIS IS THE BEST ANSWER ๐
Stage 4 in the life cycle of jellyfish suggests that meiosis occurs during the reproductive cycle of jellyfish.
A gel has a complex reproductive lifespan. The medusa has the sexual phase of expression in which its body resembles an umbrella. Jellyfish are usually male or female and release the eggs and sperm separately into the water for fertilization. In the sexual phase of the life cycle, the reproductive cells of the male and female medusa undergo meiosis. The medusae are diploid in nature (2n) and as a result of the diminishing division known as meiosis, produce haploid (n) type gates. They fertilize and form the polyps that transfer to adult medusae.
