It could be a migraine and if it is here’s a great big hug from someone who has suffered with them all her life! Migraines can be caused by hair dyes -I know from personal experience! It could be the residual chemical smell in your hair. Wash your hair well with a deep cleaning shampoo that has a scent you like. It might wash out some of the color but your health is more important than the color. Not all smells affect your breathing and not all chemical vapors have a scent. Some scentless chemical vapors can induce serious migraine headaches. Any headache with nausea and vomiting is a migraine. It could also be that you twisted or kinked you neck. Kinked necks can cause serious migraines. My advice: jump in the shower and wash your hair with a pleasant scented shampoo and rinse really well. Let a warm stream of water cascade over your upper back and neck to relax any tense muscles which will help un-kink the neck. Take a couple Advils (tylenol does nothing for migraine type headaches) and if you have Gravol or Dramamine any type of anti-nausea pills take one or two of those. Got to bed, turn off all the lights so it is super dark and try to sleep for a few hours. You should wake up feeling better. If you aren’t then you need to get to a doctor. And if you are feeling better you might still feel a bit weird -loopy and strange. This is common post migraines and you are lacking two specific nutrients so eat something high in sodium and potassium -many migraine sufferers find potato chips (seriously!) help the post headache weirdness.
A visit to a doctor is in order if you get another one of these headaches. There are treatments for migraines and with a doctor’s note you can get out of classes, get a couple Advils or whatever and spend time in a cool, quiet dark room until the headache is a bit more tolerable.
